What is the age cutoff for football?
Our "Pee Wee Year" runs from August 1 - July 31; players "Pee Wee Age" is their age on August 31st of the "Pee Wee Year". For example, the 2022-23 Pee Wee Year runs August 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023. A player's Pee Wee Age for all sports within the 2022-23 Pee Wee year (2022 Football, 2023 Basketball and 2023 Baseball) is their age on August 31, 2022.

How much is does football cost?
Early Bird Price: Must register before July 1st
A, B, & C String - $195
D String (Competitive Flag) - $125

After July 1st:
A, B, & C String - $210
D String (Competitive Flag) - $140

Registration must be paid in full (and both age and address verification on record) to be allocated to a team and receive practice gear. We also ask for a $100 security deposit when gear is handed out for A, B and C levels. This can be in the form of a check. The check would only be deposited if a player's gear is not returned at the end of the season. We can also take down your debit/credit card information to hold as a form of deposit. Again, your card would only be run for the $100 if gear is not returned at the end of the season.

What does my registration fee go towards?
Because we are a non-profit organization our sports programs are run almost entirely on registration fees. Registration fees help pay for field rentals, sport equipment, training aids, insurance fees, official fees, field maintenance, general club expenses (utilities, building maintenance, etc.) and lavatory facilities.

Can we register in person? Where?

You may attend one of our scheduled in-person registration sessions. However, because our registration and team management system is web-based, we do require that you have a valid email address to register. In-person registration date and time information will be posted on Facebook and is TBD at this time.

Do you offer any scholarships for players?

Scholarships are dependent on donations, and available on a case by case basis.
** Adults requesting scholarships for a player are required to volunteer.
** Requests must be made at in person registration
** In Person Registration Dates TBD at this time.
** Keep an eye on the website calendar banner for updates or our Facebook page.
** Scholarship requests will be discussed at our August board meeting. We will determine funds available and how much support can be given.
** If partial  scholarships are awarded, you will have until the 1st scheduled game to pay the balance or your player will be ineligible until paid.
** NEW scholarship requests WILL NOT be considered after the August board meeting on 8/10/22.

When do practices begin?
Practices begin on August 1st. Practice days can vary but typically will occur Monday through Friday until the first game. After the first game practices will occur 3-4 times per week at the coaches discretion.

Where are practices and games located?
Practices are held at the Warren Avenue Play Field (Carpenter Field), as are home games for C and D levels. All home games for A and B  levels are tentatively expected to be played at Bremerton High School's Memorial Stadium.

What should we provide?

Players on A, B and C will be issued a helmet, shoulder pads, a separate jersey and football pants for practice and games. Players on D will receive a helmet and game t-shirt. All players should obtain a set of cleats and a protective cup.

How long is the season?
Football season starts in early August. All games are on Saturday's with the first game being on the Saturday after Labor Day. The regular season runs for 7 weeks. Playoffs continue for another 3 weeks culminating in the League Championships.

Is my child able to play up/down?
Requests to "play down" are rare and made on a case by case basis. These cases are to be presented to the Warren Avenue Board and also to Central Council at one of the KPAPWA meetings which typically take place the first Wednesday of every month @ 8pm, located at Sheridan Parks & Recreation Center. Central Council is the deciding factor in all play down requests. We do allow players to "play up" but highly encourage that players stay within their string level determined by the Pee Wee age bracket. "Play up" requests are to be made to the registrar, coordinator and/or head coach and will be reviewed by the Warren Avenue board for approval.

How can I volunteer?
You may volunteer for one or more of our roles available upon registration. Coaches and helpers that will be interacting with players during practices and/or games are required to fill out a Coaches Pledge, WSP Background Check, and take the online Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification course. Documentation and course links are provided in the "Football Docs" section of this page.

What if I do not want to volunteer?
Although we encourage all parents to volunteer or be available when the time comes, we do have an "opt out" feature built into our registration process.
